Where School Scheduling is Easy

nOS reads your data, builds the whole schedule and tells you why anything didn’t fit.

  • No setup fee. Free demo call if you want one.
  1. Start on Home.

Open the sample school or your own. Everything lives in four places: Course Requests, Schedule Builder, Results and Schedule Studio.

  2. Ask students what they want.

Build a request form in a few steps and share one link. Requests are counted as they arrive. This step is optional.

  3. Bring in your data. Press Generate.

Connect your SIS or paste a spreadsheet, pick what matters most, and nOS builds the whole schedule. The sample school fills 92.64% of requests.

  4. See why anything didn’t fit.

Problems lists every unmet request with a plain reason, biggest first, and names the students waiting.

  5. Change anything, any way you like.

Move a class on the Board and nOS shows what it costs before you keep it. Or edit a student, section or teacher in Make changes, or write a rule. Nothing is final until you apply changes.

  6. Or just ask nOS AI.

Ask in plain words, like “Seat the Spanish II waitlist.” nOS AI proposes each change on a card, and nothing happens until you confirm.

  7. Apply, then send it out.

Send files to your SIS, export schedules as CSV, Excel or PDF, and give every student a personal link.

A master schedule takes more than a hundred hours to build by hand.

And it usually falls on one person. nOS does the search, explains whatever it couldn’t place, and leaves a record the rest of your team can follow.

Common questions

What is nOS?

nOS is master scheduling software for K-12 schools, made by nOS LLC in North Carolina. It collects students’ course requests, builds the master schedule from them, tells you why any request didn’t fit, and sends the finished schedule back to your student information system. Before any requests are in, it can schedule your teachers and classes on their own.

What is master scheduling software?

Master scheduling software builds a school’s master schedule: which sections of each course run in which period, so that as many student course requests as possible fit. nOS places your sections in periods and seats every student it can. It fills a missing teacher or room only when you ask it to. It explains every request it could not place, and returns the finished schedule to your student information system.

Will every course request fit?

Not always. Sometimes the sections, seats and teachers you have can’t hold every request. Before it builds, nOS works out the most any schedule could place, then tells you which requests didn’t fit and why.

Can we change the schedule after it’s built without starting over?

Yes. In Schedule Studio, type a rule or an addition such as “Add a section of Spanish II”. You review what it would do first. nOS moves only the students it has to, names each one, and holds the result in Changes until you apply it.

Does nOS AI change anything without my approval?

No. nOS AI proposes every change on a card, and nothing happens until you confirm it. Even then, it waits in Changes until someone applies it.

Does it work with our student information system?

nOS connects to 19 student information systems, including PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Blackbaud, Veracross and Skyward. Some take the finished schedule back directly; others get a file your administrator imports. You can also start from a spreadsheet.
